ABOUT ME
Ricardo Da Silva is an audiovisual artist whose work explores the relationship between image, sound, and materiality. He began working with video as a teenager and, in 2003, started creating experimental short films inspired by historical avant-garde movements, incorporating soundtracks composed from found sounds. Deeply attached to the physicality of film, he began developing performances using film projectors (16mm, 35mm) in 2007, while also expanding his practice into sound synthesis. His hybrid approach combines experimental cinema, sound art, and live performance.
He has been active in several collective projects, including Koma F, Thomas More Project, KomInForm, CINE-NOISE, Cinéma Oblò, Oblò Sonic, DMK, ALEA, and ZHZ. Alongside his sound research, he creates films, interactive installations, VJ performances, and audiovisual live acts.
In parallel with his artistic practice, Ricardo Da Silva teaches and leads workshops on cinema, video, and sound creation. He has collaborated with a wide range of international artists and collectives, including Astro, LKO, Yousuke Fuyama, 23N1, Zooreil, Cogne et Foutre, Cellule d’Intervention Métamkine, Craig Baldwin, Greg Pope, Overload Collapse, Nosk, and DCP.
